THE ESSENCE OF YOGA
An Eight-Month Transformational Journey
The course is structured around the study of the Yoga Sutra and its traditional commentaries.
Each week we will study the original text, examine the traditional explanations, reflect on the teaching through questions and discussion, and investigate its meaning through pranayama and meditation.
The course is not intended to be simply an academic study of Yoga.
The aim is to understand the teaching sufficiently deeply that it can become something we investigate in our own experience.
HOW WE STUDY
The method follows the traditional progression of:
Hearing → Reflecting → Meditating
The teaching is first heard.
It is then examined, questioned and reflected upon.
Finally, it is investigated through practice and meditation.
This movement between study and experience is fundamental to the course.
